| Jackrabb!t has been hard at work on the new UDHQ website!
The layout and usability of the site is a major improvement over the old wordpress design. We still have the old content that was displayed on the site and will update the site accordingly when it is finished.
In other news, I would like to announce that I have been working on a couple projects:
1.) JGrass Documentation Project -- this is a full set of help files for both server owners and modders. These documents will clearly tell you how to use JGrass if you're a client and how to take advantage of the powerful mechanisms within it if you're a modder. Includes plenty of examples and mini-tutorials.
2.) GCinematics Package -- adds cinematic capability to Unreal 1 maps. Requires JGrass. Cinematics are simple to set up -- all you need is a CinematicTrigger with the proper state set. A CinematicTrigger can serve as a Start, End or Pause point for cutscenes. They can also be set to display captions in the center or bottom of the viewer's screen. The subtitle engine supports a simple set of tags to control how your text is rendered, allowing for colored text, pulsating text and more. This is different from traditional text rendering in that it supports modifying only pieces of the full caption (think HTML) and not be forced to apply a rendering condition (such as color) to the whole string.
More news to follow as things progress...
